Year two of my journey with ITLL and where am I now? Reflection is part of our classes and drilled into our students but as educators we often forget, or put off, time for us to celebrate and think about how we have grown.
I’m out of the classroom and into a resource role this year, which means I do not have a group of students to call my own, a set of assignments that I give daily for students to work on, or deliver new concepts or lessons to teach and for a while I think I lost track of the impact I have, or can have, working with students and staff.
As a resource teacher I should have flexibility in my schedule to work with teachers and students to create lessons and assignments to meet individual needs. I should be able to find tools and resources to enhance the learning and success of students in our classes.
This should be what drives my day; the reason I am in this new role. I look forward to this new found drive and determination. I am eager to apply what George suggests demonstrating one new idea but multiple ways of using it. Smaller steps to reach goals is going to be how success is had.
