Just letting everyone know that we are now starting to assess the Words Their Way words each week. After 3 times of words being sorted and doing different activities withe the words we will send the sorts home as usual, then on the following meeting time (usually 2 days later) we will do an assessment. It will be a spelling ‘test’ of 12 of the words. We did our first assessment today. Your child will be bringing home their assessment for you to see.

This can be another activity you can work on at home…practicing the correct spelling. The words follow patterns so many of the words should be easy to spell once students understand the pattern.
