The Endling: Part Two “Captives”

Hi Everyone!

Congratulations! You did a great job reading and commenting on Part One of The Endling. Thank you for your participation 🙂

Our next goal is to: Read Part Two: Captives (Pages 51-137) by Monday, July 23.

Suggested Comment Topic: Which character(s) do you like/dislike/relate to/want to know more about, etc.

*You can make comments about other things…this is just a suggestion if you need an idea!

Dont worry if you’re a little behind and haven’t finished reading Part One. Don’t give up! Read at your own pace if that works best for you.

I found this tweet from the author Katherine Applegate this morning…so naturally I needed to reply!

Here is where Hudson and I have been spending our time reading and journaling. I have finished a book and already have a few more books ‘on the go’!

Enjoy reading Part Two: Captives. Feel free to make comments as you finish reading. As always, I look forward to hearing from you!

Happy Reading my Summer Book Club kids and parents 😉

Until next time,

Danielle

My favourite character is Tobble because He is humorous but kind. I also like Tobble because he is confident. He is always trying to save Byx’s life. Tobble has a life debt. He tried to protect Byx from the terrible serpents.

Yes. Tobble is confident in his ability to repay Byx for saving his life. I wasn’t a fan of the part about the serpents…since I am not fond of snakes! I’m glad it turned out ok! Happy Reading!!

Hi guys, it’s Owen here. I loved part to , and I have to say that my favourite character is Tobble. He is determined and here preserves where he can and where he can’t, he doesn’t. He is courageous and I doubt he going to stop any time soon. He is kind and he loves helping people (not actual people, dairnes) and it is his duty to save Byx’s life three times so that kind of motivates him.
    Sincerely,
    Me

Hi, it’s Cassidy, as I continued reading Endling I realized that Tobble is my favourite character. I absolutely love his cute, loyal, brave and wise personality. I think that Tobble and Byx’s relationship has grown, Tobble no longer travels with Byx because of wonckiby code- they’re true friends. I wonder what Byx will do next- is escaping worth the risk? I know there plenty of danger ahead, I just really hope that nothing bad happens to them…

I like Byx because I really like how nice she is to Tobble even though Dairnes and Wobbyks are never friends. I really like Tobble because he’s thoughtful…he thought to pick up some things he found near the Mirabear Hive that he thought Byx would like to have. I want to know more about Khara and why she is so kind and different than the other hunters.

That was very thoughtful when Tobble picked up those items from the hive. Kindness matters 🙂 Happy Reading!!

    Hi Hudson here!
I am loving the book!!! My favourite character is Tobble but feel like he is misjudged because he is so small but people think he helpless but I think at one point he do something awesome to save the others. And I know a lot of you don’t watch STARS WARS but there is a famous Yoda quote that is “Judge me by my size do you?” so I think that is how Tobble feels, that people judge him by his size.

This book is full of suspense and mystery. I like all of the characters in different ways. Tobble is my favourite. He is the fierce and loyal warrior who will protect his friend Byx to the end.. I think that he feels that it is important to stay with Byx so that he can earn his higher status and receive his ceremony for bravery from the Wobbyks.

Khara is mysterious to me. First of all she can disguise herself very well. She seems to be very good at getting what she wants, which leads me to believe that her intentions may not be as good as we think when it comes to Byx. I feel like there is something important that we have not learned about her yet. My guess would be that she is of royalty or has some rare magical powers belonging only to a special group of individuals.

My heart goes out to Byx. She has been thrown into a situation out of her control after losing her family. I can’t imagine having to deal with the grief while entrusting my life with a stranger for my survival. She appears to be brave but is struggling with her emotions of loss.

I am enjoying this book very much. Can’t wait to read the next part.

Hi guys Olivia here! My favourite character is Tobble
because he is so brave and thoughtful especially when he picked up those items from the hive. I feel so bad for Byx when he lost his family. When I read the part where Byx lost his family I felt like I was Byx and I lost my family. Can’t wait to read part three “My Funeral”!!!

Byx must be feeling so scared and lost. It’s a good thing she has a great pal like Tobble! Do you think their friendship is real/sincere? Happy Reading!!

I like Byx because she is cute and cool at the same time. I like that she can glide in the air and that she is a lie detector. My favourite part (and scary part) is when there were snakes everywhere. I wonder what snake tastes like?

I think the friendship between Byx and Tobble is real because why would tobble pick up the stuff he found near the mirabear hive if he didn’t really care about byx? and why would byx save tobble in part 1?
