The Giving Tree

The Earl Grey Giving Tree is set up and waiting to be filled! The “Giving Tree” is simply an unadorned Christmas Tree that has been set up in our downstairs hallway. Our student council is hoping to fill it with toothbrushes, toothpaste, toimg_4012ques, mitts/gloves, scarves, socks, band-aids, cough drops, chap stick, water bottles, shampoo, deodorant and travel kits of personal care items. The items will be donated to Siloam Mission and all Earl Grey students have been asked to help us fill the tree. Students can give their donations to their classroom teachers and members of the student council will make sure the items are either hung on the tree or placed in the decorated boxes beneath the tree.

We Remembered…

Our Grade 7/8’s visited the Field of Honour at Brookside Cemetery and hosted our Remembrance Day Assembly. We were touched by our choir and by our dance team, both performances inspired us to make the world a better place.brookside

Our Nursery – Grade 8 Students are divided into multiage family groups and they met for the first time and created some art work to honour Remembrance Day.

Thank You Room 11!

Room 11 planned and hosted our October Assembly.  We were treated to a spooky dance by Room 13 and some Grade 8 leaders,  a powerful song and powerpoint encouraging us to make our mark by Room 16 and a very touching song sung and signed by Room 11 and Room 21.

We celebrated our Patrols, our Conflict Managers, our Eco – Rangers and the 20 students that represented Earl Grey at our Division’s Everybody Has the Right conference.  It was great to see so many parents in the audience. Our next assembly is on Remembrance Day Assembly by our Grade 7’s & 8’s on November 10 at 11:00 . Our choir is also singing the most gorgeous song at that assembly.
