26 Tips From Room 26

Remote Learning Plan - January 4-8, 2021 - Centreville Public School

  1. Follow a morning routine and give yourself plenty of time before checking in at 9:00 a.m. on Google Classroom

 

  1. Keep a clean and organized workspace

 

  1. Be sure you have a quiet place to work

 

  1. Focus on your learning and try your best to ignore the distractions around you

 

  1. Use a fidget tool if you need help focusing on your learning

 

  1. Start with the challenging assignments first and then the ones that are easier for you

 

  1. Ask for help when you need it

 

  1. Work hard to meet the assignment deadlines

 

  1. Try not to be too hard on yourself

 

  1. Take your time and don’t rush through your assignments

 

  1. Take breaks throughout the day as you need them

 

  1. Watch the time to make sure your breaks aren’t too long

 

  1. Write down your virtual meeting times to help keep track of your time

 

  1. Set an alarm 5 minutes before your virtual meeting is about to start

 

  1. Listen carefully to the instructions during virtual meetings just like you would in class

 

  1. Be kind and respectful to others during your virtual meetings

 

  1. Participate in the discussions

 

  1. Turn off your mic when you don’t need to talk during virtual meetings

 

  1. Wear headphones during the virtual meetings to help focus on the speaker

 

  1. Keep your camera still and focused during the virtual meetings

 

  1. Use the chat for learning conversations only

 

  1. Use a background or blur your background if you would like privacy

 

  1. Keep the same background for the whole meeting so you don’t distract others

 

  1. Give everyone a chance to share during meetings

 

  1. Have some fun with your classmates by sticking around for a game at the end or use Google Hangouts to connect

 

  1. Treat yourself when the learning day is over
