26 Tips From Room 26
- Follow a morning routine and give yourself plenty of time before checking in at 9:00 a.m. on Google Classroom
- Keep a clean and organized workspace
- Be sure you have a quiet place to work
- Focus on your learning and try your best to ignore the distractions around you
- Use a fidget tool if you need help focusing on your learning
- Start with the challenging assignments first and then the ones that are easier for you
- Ask for help when you need it
- Work hard to meet the assignment deadlines
- Try not to be too hard on yourself
- Take your time and don’t rush through your assignments
- Take breaks throughout the day as you need them
- Watch the time to make sure your breaks aren’t too long
- Write down your virtual meeting times to help keep track of your time
- Set an alarm 5 minutes before your virtual meeting is about to start
- Listen carefully to the instructions during virtual meetings just like you would in class
- Be kind and respectful to others during your virtual meetings
- Participate in the discussions
- Turn off your mic when you don’t need to talk during virtual meetings
- Wear headphones during the virtual meetings to help focus on the speaker
- Keep your camera still and focused during the virtual meetings
- Use the chat for learning conversations only
- Use a background or blur your background if you would like privacy
- Keep the same background for the whole meeting so you don’t distract others
- Give everyone a chance to share during meetings
- Have some fun with your classmates by sticking around for a game at the end or use Google Hangouts to connect
- Treat yourself when the learning day is over
